Josh's 24th Birthday

I picked out the princess cake because that was the only one that reminded me of josh...jk babe. When I took it to his work, everyone told the other josh happy birthday, and wondered 'why does it say scottie on the cake?'. Not knowing who's birthday it was didn't slow any of them down when it came to having seconds. They were just excited to have some cake with their 3:00 coffee break. Jaylie helped him blow out the candles on the brownies his mom made.

Driveway

About 1/3 of the driveway was done in ONE DAY!!! Way to go Tod and Alfonzo.

When daddy babysits...

boat ride

So Josh and I took Jaylie fishing in the boat for the first time the other day and if I knew how to get pictures from my phone to my computer I would post them. Anyway, Jaylie was so cute all smushed into a little life jacket and we were all having fun til we decided to head back to the dock to go home. I am terrified of the water and Josh thought it was funny to do donuts in the boat, one edge of the boat was nearly in the water, the other was sky high. He did it 2 times and I told him if he did it again I wouldn't go in the boat anymore. He just grinned and of course, did a third donut. Well the last time around, he went to drive straight after driving in a circle but somehow he managed to forget that the boat makes wakes in the water... He punched it going against the wakes we had just made and it felt like we had crashed into another boat, stopping us in our tracks. Apparently the seat I was sitting on, with Jaylie on my lap, wasn't up for this kind of abuse and it tipped over and dumped us onto the propane heater then landed on top of us. While Josh was getting the boat under control I was putting the seat back up, kicking the heater, making sure Jaylie was still alive and trying not to throw Josh out of the boat. We were all a little shaky after that, and I still haven't forgiven him. I had been doing so good about not swearing anymore, up until then... I think it will be a while until I am brave enough to go with them again, especially to take Jaylie out with us.

Girl Friends

Lately I have been feeling lonely for some female companionship. Not that there aren't females around me, I am with Jaylie 24/7 and Darlene is home a lot. But I mean the come-hell-or-high-water, never gonna have a falling out, BFF, sisterly friendship. The kind of friend you stay up into the wee hours of the morning talking and laughing about nothing. Talking about boys (lets face it, every MAN is a BOY at heart) and what a pain in the neck they can be, or the little things they do that make you re-fall in love with them. The type of friend you can sit and do nothing at all with and still have the time of your life. One who appreciates the same things that warm you inside and out, like the sunsets, or waking up in the mountains to the birds chirping, or watching a baby learn and smile. Or a friend who can read your mind and knows just what to say or do to make you feel better. I've realized that I have had so many amazing friends throughout my life and I am so blessed to have felt all these things and more. I would rather be lonely for these feelings than to never have felt them at all, so thank you to all my friends who have touched my life, I miss you all! P.S. you can always come visit me anytime! :)

SURPRISE!

Tessa came to visit for a week during her spring break. All along she told us she was driving with a friend from college and that they were meeting her friend's parents in Oregon, then Tessa would finish the trip alone. Well, when she came in the house I walked out front and gave her a hug. She turned me around and said, "I think you need to look in there..." pointing back to the kitchen. I was like, Tess, I was just in there making dinner, not much going on I can assure you. Then Tyeanna and Buzz walked around the corner!!! I was so excited!!! Tanya Ryan and Calvin got here yesterday so we are having a party!! Tessa was so proud of herself for keeping it a secret from us, actually I think Josh and I were the only ones who didn't know Tyeanna was coming. I have to say THANK YOU to Darren, he had to give them up for a week and yesterday he spent his birthday all alone. YOU'RE THE BEST D-RON!! I am so happy!

OH Deere

YAY!! Josh starting a new job working at a John Deere dealership today! He was a little nervous cuz he didn't know what to expect. It has been a while since he has started a new job, about 6 years I think, when he started working for Smartway. He's helping the mechanics in the shop and will be going to school in January to become a mechanic himself. The shop will sponsor him for school. Next step, a place of our own!! :)
